Love’s senses

I have been a witness to love before,

But what I saw appeared unrewarding.

I have listened to tuneless love before,

The discourse is unwarranted, recalling.

I have despondently reached out for love,

Found tenderness unforgiving.

The expected sweet aroma of love,

Was without doubt perfumed with misgivings.

Hope'd for flavours of previous love,

Were unnourishing, tasteless, and bland.

But then I encountered you, and your love,

Falling gently into your outstretched hands,

My senses exploded with sheer delight.

Your sunburst love, exposed so bright.
